Autumn 2 2017 Class 34 Visit Styal Mill workshops and Apprentice House

Lesson: History

Class: Year 3 and Year 4 Year: 2017 - 2018

The children enjoyed hands on activities learning all about how children worked and played in Victorian times.  Here are some of their comments on best bits!

I liked learning about how they played with the toys  (Laiba)

I enjoyed writing with the Victorian pen  (Alex)

Playing in the garden was fun  (Olliver)

It was really hard work pretending to  crawl under  machines to sweep up - you had to be fast!   (Layla)

The photos give a little taste of some of the learning that took place - it was a great day and big thanks to all the staff, volunteers at the Mill for making it such a success and help the children in the understanding of what it was like to live in Victorian times.    The class would also like to say a huge thank you to  Jamila and Jude's mum for giving up their time to come along with us.
