Working with Quarry Bank Mill

Styal Primary School has very close links with Quarry Bank Mill.

This brilliant resource supports us with our learning in many areas such as Science and pond-dipping, History and the Victorians and Geography and ourlocal area including the River Bollin.

This year we are going a step further as it is our Bicentennial. 

QBM Experts Supporting Learning in School

On 9th June 2023, volunteers from QBM will be visiting school to spend time with our children. They will be supporting our children with history projects linked to our bicentennial.

• KS2 Using QBM archives and school records 

Year 5 / 6 Landscape Design - Link with Liverpool University

On the same day, Year 5 / 6 are working in conjunction with Liverpool University and QBM. They will be creating landscape designs with Brenda Colvin - a great garden design project.

A Whole School Visit to QBM

On 13th July 2023, the entire school will be walking to QBM in full Victorian costume! What an amazing sight we will be! We will be taking part in 4 activities that will take us back in time to the era when the mill was thriving and the apprentices lived at the Apprentice House. We will definitely be bringing outr learning to life!
