Snow is here in Spring week Friday 2 March
Date: 2nd Mar 2018 @ 1:16pm
Well our first week into so called Spring has been cut short with snow days!
Despite this, children have worked really hard in a short time to learn to retell the first part of the Greek myth 'Romulus and Remus' using Talk for Write techniques - see if they can tell you it so far with the actions? We have also worked hard on our sentence work and using multiplication methods in Maths.
We are doing well singing our Music festival songs - all the lyrics are uploaded on the website and homework is to learn them off by heart, as we cannot look at the words for the actual performance! All children have been given a letter about this as we need to know if they are able to attend at Wilmslow Leisure Centre on Thursday 15th March 6.30 pm(tickets available from school office). Please let us know if they cannot make it by returning the letter as soon as possible.
New English homework - children should have all brought home handwriting practise sheets of their current key spellings words - please let us know if this is missing and we will try our best to help them to put in their book bags!
Maths homework continues as usual. We have also shown the children a number of websites which have interactive games that really help with quick recall of timestables and related division facts as this is our key focus over the next few weeks. Although some of the children now know all their tables it is really important to keep going over them, especially division. One website is http://www.ictgames.com/ select maths, your year group then scroll down to multiplication and division (or any of the areas if you want!) to have a go!
We look forward to sharing with you the work next week at parents evenings on Monday and Wednesday evenings.
In the meantime enjoy the snow, keep warm and let's hope we see more spring-like weather very soon.
