Happy half term Friday 25th May
Date: 25th May 2018 @ 1:39pm
Well, we cannot believe how quickly the first half of the term has gone and a big well done to all the children for their hard work! This week in Science week we have learnt about a different element each day and written some excellent shape poems , some extracts of which we put together into verses to perform with actions in our celebration assembly. The children came up with all the ideas and learnt all the words superbly!
Mrs Brown built a fire in forest school on Tuesday and yesterday we made windmills and paper helicopters – it was quite tricky but everyone worked really hard and did not give up!
A special thanks to Isla's mum for coming in this morning as a surprise guest reader - the children were really engaged in an extract from Horrid Henry!
Next term we begin the half term with ‘Back in Time’ week with lots of activity to learn about the history and geography of Styal. In English we will be putting all the information we learn into newspaper style reports and Geometry will be our Maths focus – learning the properties of 2D shapes.
Special mention to the children who received certificates in the celebration assembly this afternoon:
Y3 Jude Tugby – helpful attitude in class and around school
Y4 Alfie Hodgson – for being a good friend to everyone
Y3 Rocco Fisher – his written methods in Maths
Y4 Layla Towns – working very hard to improve her sentence work and handwriting
Y3 Evie – excellent thoughtful work in all her English
Y4 Daisy – maintaining high standard of work and effort across all areas of school life
Very big well done to the Y4 girls: Ana, Neve, Lucy, Penny, Millie, Jamila : (and families) who helped to bake delicious cakes and run a cake sale today to raise money for The Dogs Trust. So far the amount raised is still rising but in the region of £70+. dele Thanks to everyone who supported them buying cakes!
We hope you have a wonderful half term break – thanks for all your continued support.
See you in June!
