SAFER INTERNET DAY 2017
The theme this year is Be the change: Unite for a better internet!
In school our children have been learning to develop an understanding of what details are classed as personal information, and that these should be kept private. They will explore how photos shared online can potentially stay there forever and may reach a wider audience than they intended. They will consider how photos create an impression of their character and personality (online reputation) and will use this knowledge to develop a strategy to help them decide if a photo/image is okay to share online or not.
As part of this work we are holding a competition for children to create an
All About Me collage!
Children can create or choose some images of themselves, which would be safe to share online.
A collage picture represents your personality without giving away personal information, for example pictures of your favourite colour, food, animal, sport etc.
Children can use existing photos, take new photos, draw or write a description, it is your choice!
Please hand all entries in to class teachers, the winner will be chosen on Tuesday 14th February.
First prize is an itunes voucher!
Good luck and get creating!
Congratulations to our winners Chloe R and Jamila S! Well done to our runners up Isla O and Ruby D!
We had such a fantastic response to the competition, thank you to all the children that got involved! We hope it got families talking at home about online safety, what is safe to post online and how we are responsible for our online presence.
