Kindness and Kiva (Anti-Bullying)
At Styal, kindness is a key value that we hold dear. This is something that we celebrate everyday and especially in our weekly newsletter and in Friday's celebration assembly.
We frequently award 'Random Acts of Kindness' where children are given a ping pong ball from the headteacher, Mrs Boardman, in return for their kind act. This is always a highlight of Mrs Boardman's day - knowing that our children will have kindness as an intrinsic value. Balls / rewards are tallied and the winning class at the end of term can choose a prize from the prize jar. In Autumn, the kind acts of Year 3/4 earned them 'Crazy Hair Day!'.
We have a zero tolerance to bullying at Styal. KIVA is our anti-bullying strategy and is led by Mrs Macdonald. This year we launched our anti-bullying week with Odd Socks Day. This was a fun way to celebrate our differences - we are all different and unique - but all equal!#
